Alive

Walking down empty road,
A heart heavy with fears untold;
The rain a welcome visitor in this lonely place,
Like tears it streams down your pale face.
To numb to cry, to even try,
Drenched to the bone you walk on by.
Pain, a luxury you no longer feel;
Like someone your very hopes did wrench and steal.
Memories of your childhood flood back in haste,
The tears cried back then you can almost taste.
But you don't push them away,
Instead you let these images play.
'Cause that how to the conclusion you arrive,
That you are still alive.
